CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

Mario Biasin and George Kline founded Metricon Homes in 1976, with their client operative philosophy being "to not just build houses, but to design stunning homes where you'd love to live, homes that celebrate Australian family life in all its wonderful variety".

The 5 building blocks of Metricon's Design Philosophy is what really drove the overall design scheme of Level 23 of 1 Bligh Street Tower.

These five building blocks include 'beauty is at the heart of it all', 'we are masters of space', 'living the dream', 'its all about you', and 'its your lifestyle'. Together, these five building blocks helped deliver a bright, classy space.

Velvet, brass, rich bronze laminate, soft cream wood, and marble stone were carefully chosen in order to deliver a space which spoke luxury, but also comfort. Atelier Yale velvet upholstery was chosen for its opulent aesthetic, whilst also being a suitable choice to coincide with Metricon's branding identity. Polished Brass by Chemetal was carefully chosen for its upmarket and elegant aesthetic, paving the way for a space which is warm, welcoming, and upper-class. Rich Bronze High Pressure Laminate by Wilsonart was also incorporated into the mix for column coverings. Applying materiality to the interior of the buildings architecture brought the space to life and made it feel like the columns were apart of the design, not just there for structural support. Statuario Maximus and Cloudburst Concrete, both engineered stone created by Caeserstone themselves, are high-end material finishes, helping to deliver a superior fit-out. With the incorporation of soft cream SSROW by Supawood for the acoustic wall panelling, and with the carefully selected elegant lighting fixtures, this fit-out has proven to make one feel like they are working in utter luxury.
